Melanie has 18 years of experience in site-based, consulting, and corporate processing roles in the Western Australian mining industry. Melanie has experience in base metals flotation and hydrometallurgical processes. Melanie holds a BSc Extractive Metallurgy, a BSc Chemistry, and a Diploma of Project Management. Melanie was Senior Metallurgist at Western Areas between 2012 and 2018, responsible for project engineering, project development, commissioning, and operations of many projects. She was Metallurgy and Study Manager from 2018 to 2021, responsible for delivery of the Definitive Feasibility Study for the Abra Base Metals Project. This was followed by Processing Manager from 2021 to 2023, responsible for operational readiness activities, recruitment of operational, maintenance and technical personnel and the commissioning of the Abra process plant.
